WINCHES
Harken "Quattro" winches may be installed on the cabin top instead of the Harken 44 selftailing winches. The self tailing "Quattros" have a large diameter lower drum and a normal diameter upper drum. They work great as both a standard halyard winch, and, using the lower drum, a very fast spinnaker sheet winch. This is a nice upgrade for the more race oriented sailor, and has proved popular in the same application on the Farr 40.
The price of this option is: $574.00
An electric Harken 44 AST winch may be installed on the cabin top to handle the main halyard, one jib halyard, and even the roller furling line. This is a neat option for short handed, husband/wife teams. The main goes up with a push of a button. The 12VDC electric winch can be used up until the five minute gun on race days. When a standard winch handle is inserted in the winch, it disconnects the electric motor, and the winch functions like a normal winch. This option must be ordered before start of construction.
The price for this option is: $3,844.00
Lewmar winches may be ordered instead of the standard Harken winches. The base Lewmar package consists of two Lewmar 48 AST primaries with the self tailers removed for quicker tacks. There are four Lewmar 44 AST' which replace the four Harken 44 AST's. The weight of the two packages is very close. Both brands are high quality winches.
The price for this option is: $325.00
Lewmar builds a "speed ring" winch, which is the functional equivalent of the Harken "Quattro" (see above).
The price for this option is: $837.00
Lewmar builds an electric self tailing 44 winch which functions the same as the Harken electric halyard winch. (see above) This option must be ordered before the start of construction.
The price for this option is: $4,550.00
BACKSTAY
The standard hydraulic backstay adjuster is an integral Navtec -10. It is simple, light and easy to use. It is installed just behind the helmsman. Some owners requested a remote hydraulic panel that could be adjusted by a forward crew member in the cockpit. An optional Navtec System 5 single function remote panel will be offered. It will have the same pump speed and power as the integral cylinder. It will be mounted on the starboard side of the cockpit seat. When the remote panel is installed, the opening port normally mounted there will be deleted. This option must be ordered before the start of construction.
The price for this option is: $2,096.00
ALUMINUM WHEEL
An Edson 60" dia. aluminum wheel may be ordered instead of the 60" dia stainless steel wheel. The wheel covering option price is the same on either wheel. This option must be ordered before the start of construction.
The price for this option is: $1,235.00
AFT CABIN
We had several requests for an aft cabin to provide more privacy for two couples. Click HERE for the drawing. The nav table will become a bit bigger and switch to a fore and arrangement to accommodate the aft cabin. There will be storage under the table top, and a drawer group under the forward end of the table. A swing out seat will be installed. The standard nav seat and hanging locker will be deleted. The aft cabin bulkhead will have a bi-fold door for privacy. Inside the aft cabin there will be a hanging locker and bureau group. The port side berth will be unchanged. The standard opening port on the cabin side will be in the aft cabin, along with the cockpit opening port. Please note that there will be a weight increase of approximately 200 pounds associated with the aft cabin option. This option must be ordered before start of construction. Once construction on a boat has started, CML can not change the interior layout.
The price for this option is: $4,500.00
